Dean was one of the friendliest people I have ever met. I first met him during Beast Barracks in 6th Company. Since we were both runts and in the same cadet battalion, we saw a lot of each other and attended some of the same classes. We were also on the Debate Council and Forum and in the Ski club together. We ran across each other frequently as cadets and at reunions, but unfortunately, I did not get to serve with him after graduation. I was shocked and greatly saddened to learn of his death.
