Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Clark Barrett on December 16, 2004:

I was shocked to hear of LTC McMahon's death in Afghanistan. When I saw the notice I had to sort out if it was in fact my former boss. Then MAJ McMahon was the BDE S3 at 21st Cavalry Bde in Fort Hood TX. I was a Cavalryman/Tanker stuck in an Aviation Bde of all places but he and the rest of the Air Cav guys always made me feel welcome.

He was a great boss to work for, a good mentor whose single best thing he did for me was to let me go on and encourage me back into a successful place back where I thought I belonged... in Tanker land. He gave me the gift of his good example and I am thankful for my time working with him. My wife Shara and I share his family's sadness and want you to all know that you are in our thoughts.

May it be said well done, be thou at peace.
Clark
