I am terribly saddened to learn of Shannon's passing. He was a superior human being who led a life of service to others. I first met Shannon in 1989 when he was a squad leader in West Point's cadet basic training, and I was his tactical officer. He was a standout, inspirational leader and a man for others. Always upbeat, his enthusiasm for life was contagious. I remember him and the positive impact he had on us twenty two years ago as if it were yesterday. My sincere condolences to Shannon's family. He life was a tribute to his upbringing, to West Point, and to the Army. |
