Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Steve Ruggiero on December 22, 2004:
Zane and I were Guppies at West Point for four years. I remember him living on the 5th floor of the 55th Division of the Lost Fifties first semester plebe year... the choicest location for any plebe trying to keep a low profile. I remember CDT LT Scott "hazing" everyone, and giving special additional training to Zane. I remember Zane staying up late at night and "studying Russian." I remember him living with Ping the second semester and how they always fought over how loud Derek kept his stereo. I used to be in their room all the time playing Civilization III while Zane tried to study. Sorry, Zane.
I was truly honored that you invited me to your wedding in October. I was even more thrilled that I was able to make it. Your brother, Sam, is a crazy guy and I'm glad I got a chance to meet him and your parents. Your wife, Angela, is beautiful and a wonderful person. I'm glad you two found each other.
I wish I had been able to visit you again and meet your son. You will be missed, my friend.
