Be Thou At Peace

Posted by SSG A on October 15, 2011:

CPT Discenzo taught me many things while he was my company commander. Upon my assignment as the maintenance team chief he made it a known fact to me that he previously served as the Battalion Maintenance Officer so he know what had to be done on the admin side of the house and he was going to ensure that I did what I was suppose to do. I don't think a day went by without his direct involvement in the maintenance aspect. He was a hands on commander that I deeply respected and learned from. Every morning as I look in the mirror, I look at his name tattooed on my right shoulder and I am reminded of the person and Soldier he was. I knew he was a wrestler as I was, so everyday I would challenge him to a match and he would chuckle and respond "get back with me tomorrow". I think he was just saving me the embarrassment. I silently thank him for that.

You will always be respected and missed sir. It was an honor and privilege to serve in your command. Rest in peace
