Dear Dr. Mangum, You were the toughest man I have met. You were my mentor, you taught me to be strong, to believe myself, and never give up. You opened a world of opportunities to me. Whenever life throws me a curve, I always think of what you would do, and follow through. I wish my plans to visit you after your retirement had materialized. I would have loved to go to the range and listen to your war stories again. You have been and always will be my hero. I am proud and honored to have met you and will miss you dearly.
