Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Mel on December 28, 2011:

Merry Christmas Kim. I thought about you this past weekend while trying out a new board over on the east coast. I was remembering our time together at NASA in 2008, and about the call I got from the program asking me to check up on you. I didn't know exactly what had happened, but I felt uneasy and that something was wrong. I was so relieved just to see you at work every morning afterwards, and I'm glad that you had decided to spend some more time with me. I lost a lot of sleep over those weeks worrying about you. I recall your reaction when I gave you the Joni Mitchell song and what you said to me afterwards; this I will never forget. With tears today, I miss you. You're an amazing and wonderful person; I truly wish there was something more I could have done, or if only I could have been there for you this past year. Come ride some waves with me Kim, the invitation's still open.
