Dear Jay, Papa and I sometimes get updates from your friends as the year winds down. This year, we heard about Seth, Kevin, Andy, Roman, Ted, and of course Jen. They still remember special times with you. You succeeded in so many ways, and you were always striving to reach a new goal! As parents, we tried to let you know that we knew how hard you worked to meet the highest standards, and that we loved to see you take each step. How much you anticipated returning to teach at West Point! Except time ran out! Were you smiling down each time your sibling or friend earned a pat on the back, and when your brother was honored by the Naval Academy? I think so. Thanks for the privilege of being your mom, and Happy New Year! I promise to let you know when Army beats Navy again in football! Love, Mama |
