James Vincent Mudd

Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Dave Chadwick on January 5, 2012:
I am greatly saddened and surprised to see today (in January 2012) that Jim Mudd passed away in 2010. I somehow never knew that we had lost Jim, his passing is greatly mourned.
Jim was not my first detail beast squad leader, but he was Al Andon's squad leader. Al and I shared a beast room and Jim would frequently (as all good beast detail firsties do) enter our room and provide us with "advice" on how to become better New Cadets.
In Jim's case though, he was a caring and even funny and charming first detail squad leader. He regaled Al and me (and a third New Cadet who was in our room too) with numerous stories of his life, girlfriend, ambitions, and even Winnie the Pooh!
At the same time though, Jim was highly professional, STRAC, and militarily excellent in every way. I'm sure that he was liked and admired by his Pride of the Corps classmates as well. If they knew of his passing I believe that many of them would enter their own personal comments.
Jim, the world is a worse place without you. Be thou at Peace.
