| I was fortunate enough to get to know Stephen L. Bowman, COL (RET) during Battle Staff Ride for Battle of Berlin/West Berlin in August of 2008. As a history enthusiast I was astonished to find out that Colonel Bowman would be our guide, and it was well worth it! As a long time Soldier, new to the Officer corps, it was 5 days to remember. To have opportunity to learn so much in so little time from a such man as Colonel Bowman was memorable. Finding just now of his passing, I am even more saddened by fact that people such as myself are loosing these great mentors and teachers. Knowing that you have taught and influenced many, I salute you Sir!!! |
