Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Greg Hanson on February 22, 2012:

Curt was the best of the Feistner cousins. I admired his service, athleticism, goodness, quietness. I should have made more time to spend with Curt. He was loyal to his Dad's family. Not easy for Curt to attend reunions in far away and isolated SD. Just an anecdote. I organized an Aunt's panel at a reunion to gently remind us that one was known for her raisin cookies, etc. To have fun with them I deliberately ascribed memories wrongfully. Did not go the best. Point is, Curt was the only one there that afterwards offered me a kind word. He grasped what I was trying to do and made me feel better. Curt was kind as well as tough and smart. I imagine that was much appreciated by his colleagues.
