Joe and I did not know each other at West Point but it was a blessing to gain his friendship at Fort Rucker. From the first time I met Joe he touched my life. That smile that everyone talks about was something, it light the room and grabbed at your heart. No matter what was bothering me that smile and his words of encouragement brought me through it. We had so many great times at the Tavern, at FSU, and in Atlanta. I regret only that I did not have the time to know Joe better. But in his short time Joe touched me, made me want to be a better person, a man that everyone respected and admired, a man like Joe. Joe you will never be forgotten, you will always be with us.
