Dan was a kind-hearted "good guy" in the very best sense of those words. I knew Dan from a class or two at West Point (though we inhabited opposite corners of the Corps), and I have had the privilege of knowing him through West Point Society events since 1991. Dan always had a positive attitude, and a wonderfully wry outlook, toward life--even when times were challenging. Dan's son Ryan can be proud that Dan Doede is his father, for reasons far beyond what one person might enumerate. Be thou at peace, Dan. --Joe Sullivan '77 |
