Be Thou At Peace

Mike joined us at Brion's Grill for a weekly gathering of the Class of '64 classmates from Fairfax County for over a year. We were delighted to have an "old grad" older than us joining us and to share cadet stories and other "tall tales". Since Mike was a career Air Force officer and most of us were career Army, our Vietnam war stories got to be pretty good as there was a good chance he and his fellow airmen bailed us out of some dicey situations. Of course, we got some good ribbing in too as one would expect with some interservice rivalry. What was most important was the camaraderie we enjoyed with Mike during the short time he was with us. We found him to be a comrade in arms who shared our values of Duty Honor Country. He was "one of the guys". The news of his death came as a surprise to all of us. We miss him.
