Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John Preston Younger on July 8, 2012:

Johnny and I grew up together. In fact an FBI agent called on my grandmother for a reference when he entered USMA.

Johnny lived across the street from my grandmother, and we did everything together. Football, climbing down my grandmother's clothes chute on a cord we made out of many ribbons!

I am very surprised that no eulogies exist, as Johnny was my best friend, and I was honored to be in his funeral.

When the time came to place him in his resting place I requested to all that he should enter eternety head first not boot first, as that is the way we buried our friends.

If Johnny had been sent by the sea route to pick up an aircraft in Tokyo, we would have not lost Johnny; however, he had no radar, and he ran into a mountain side.
