Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Christian Williams on August 7, 2012:

My father was a wonderful Dad. He was encouraging, wise, willing to help and support, a family man and a good disciplinarian and mentor. I remember him teaching me how to ride a bike, playing catch with me when I was learning how to play baseball, fishing in Montana, and having great father and son talks. I cannot believe the things that he remembered. When I was in the High School Band, he remembered the notes to the songs that I practiced up in my bedroom with my trumpet. He could actually hum the notes and he remembered that I was first chair in the trumpet section. Although, I remembered the notes, I was very surprised that he did. He even helped me with some physics tutoring when I returned home for a break from West Point. Although, he was a Physics instructor at West Point, I simply didn't expect him to help me during a break from the Academy. What becomes clear to me as I write this eulogy is that he was a man who exceeded expectations on every count. I miss him every day. Rest in Peace Dad and don't forget to have a laugh and keep humming those notes with me. Love, Christian.
