| Don was involved the campaign surrounding Firebase Ripcord in which I also served. I remember meeting Don in Beast Barracks when we were being evaluated for lacrosse. I liked him right away and always admired him. Subsequently, I have gone to numerous reunions of Ripcord veterans brought about by Keith Nolan's book "Ripcord: Screaming Eagles Under Siege". I've met many guys who served under Don and they all sing his praises as a great company commander. What a loss to all of us and the army. |
