Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Brooke Penzel-Gray on January 5, 2013:

My name is Brooke and I would like to share a little of his life with those of you who knew Scott at West Point.

1998 was a big year for us, we got married and he became a father to my son Drew, in 1999 we had our daughter Kyla and our family grew again in 2003 when we welcomed our youngest son Charlie.

Scott and I were married for 13 years and in those 13 years Scott took pleasure in taking on new challenges and adventures. In true Scott style, He faced each new experience as a hill he was going to take for the greater good and then once he did he would flash his crooked smile, shrug his shoulders and see what was next to conquer (of course never boasting out loud but beating his chest in private at his accomplishment). Everyone loved his bad jokes, mainly because they were so bad and he had such a great time telling them. Scott furthered his education and received his Masters degree, worked at Western Nevada College as the Director of Business and Industry and was a Professor, but his greatest joy in life were his kids. His children were his heart and the love they shared for each other was unparalleled by anything he could accomplish, obtain or experience out in the world.

Scott's memory is tangible, I see it everyday in our children through their facial expressions, things they'll say and the way they see the world. His impact will effect this world for generations.

In Loving Memory,
Brooke Penzel-Gray
