Be Thou At Peace

Posted by J. A. "Andy" Chacon on March 12, 2013:

Dear Classmates, Wives, and Widows,

Russ Walthour attended the funeral for Gerry Reeve on Saturday. Here is a copy of his fine report:

"The funeral for Gerry was lovely. Four classmates and three with wives attended: Ernie and Libby Peixotto, "Bunker" and Pat Elmblad, Russ and Nancy Walthour, and John Derrick.

Carol was delighted to see all of us and chatted with all of us before the service.

"There was a reception at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club after the service. Nancy and I were not able to attend the reception as we had a prior commitment in Jacksonville that night.

When Ray Tague died several years ago the reception was held there. We tied up there for several days two different times back in the seventies when we were on our way to the Bahamas with our boat. It is really a delightful spot and also delicious food.

"A guy out of the class of '77 took a picture of our group. I will send a copy to Lou Michael. By the way Carol wore a lovely West Point scarf at the service.

Carol's son gave the eulogy. In addition to his beautiful remarks about his Father, he mentioned all of his brothers and sisters, and grandchildren and their loving relationship with Gerry.

"Another great guy has joined "The Long Gray Line". Nancy and I are delighted that we were able to attend the service. Russ""

Thank you, Russ

Andy Remson
