I served with Dennis during our Cow Summer in Beast 2. He was an amazing squad leader, and I have no doubt that the same excellence he demonstrated there, he demonstrated all the way to Baghdad. I am sure he inspired those soldiers in the same way he inspired those new cadets that hot summer that seems so distant now. Receiving his death notification was a shock, his face so familiar, and his smile still so bright. To his family, let me just add another thank you for your wonderful son, husband, and father.
