Jim and I went through "Beast Barracks" together and were both in A-2, so we got to know each other very well. He was very friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. We had quite a few classes together and ran around together throughout our 4 years as cadets. After graduation, we both were in Ranger School, Airborne School, Artillery Officer Basic Course and both volunteered for Special Forces near the end of the Artillery Officer Basic Course and became "DASLs". At one point, he dated my sister. We saw each other quite a bit even after we retired, as we try to have an A-2 "Mini-Reunion" every year and we both attended most of them. I miss him very much.
