| Chum Robert was my first detail squad leader in Beast Barracks in the summer of 1961. He taught me and the other members of my squad to say, "All that I am, all that I ever will be, all that I ever hope to be, I owe to my first detail squad leader." Though not completely true, the statement has enough truth in it for me to remember him with great respect, admiration, and appreciation. He was a fine gentleman and outstanding leader. |
