Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Mike Woodall on May 3, 2005:

I met Jay Harting on R-Day, 27 June 1994. Jay was my "Beast" Squad mate and he was always on the top of his game. He was a star performer and I never saw him take a step back or waiver in the face of a challenge. We won the "Squad Stakes" our plebe summer mainly because Jay was the fastest and strongest cadet of them all. He was a great squad member and he could take orders given and make the best of any situation. Jay, you are a true hero. I pray for your wife and your children as I know they will miss you greatly. They will live in the light that you now shine down upon them. Thank you for loving this nation more than self, and protecting the freedoms of our nation and others in the fight against evil. Your sacrifice is second only to the Lord that you now see face to face. I know your reward is great, as it should be. God Bless you and your family. I am a better man today for having the chance to serve and work with you, Jay. Job Well Done. Be Thou at Peace.
