Be Thou At Peace

Posted by William Knight on June 30, 2013:

Col. Harrison pinned my first medal in Germany in 1998. For a new (but not young) soldier, he impressed me with his attention of such a minor event in the lives of everyone else but a milestone in mine. He took a leader's interest in his people and cared about them, their careers and their personal lives. I was and still am inspired by him and I carried his caring leadership style into my own career.

It was very hard to hear this sad news. I was in Iraq at the time and as you can see by the lateness of my submission, I still think of him. My heartfelt condolences to his family and all those who cared for him. Another hero has made his way to heaven.

Thank you sir!
