John Anthony Calabro

West Point, 1968

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Doug Dribben on July 11, 2013:

COL(R) John Calabro was a tru gentleman, and learning of his untimely demise came as quite a shock. He always put West Point second - but only to his family. His service as a P and at AOG was top-notch, and he was a true servant for graduates as well as for the academy. A generous man, he would go out of his way to help anyone in need, and did so for me several times. He is one of those rare men whose service is, as the plebe poop says, "worthy of veneration and emulation." When he reached the pearly gates, I am sure the Corps stood to attention, gripping hands with him and saying "Well done; be thou at peace." I am honored to have known him. God bless him and his family.
