Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Reamer Argo on September 4, 2013:
I met Ken in Feb 1972 when we were still in HS on an official football recruiting visit to West Point. We actually had a great weekend and many of the players who were there that weekend decided to join the Army team, Bob McClure and John Warner were also there. Ken and I remained good friends, playing football together and also spending some quality time attempting to have a college experience at the Military Academy. I have so many great stories I could tell but then this testimonial would become a journal. An item missed in his Memorial Article is that Ken was also a great swimmer. I remember plebe year his company and my company competed in the finals of the Brigade Swimming Championship...his company beat ours due to his outstanding swimming performance. Ken and I both went Field Artillery and continued our friendship at the basic course and in our first assignment in Germany. I was fortunate to have the chance to talk with Ken when he was battling his illness, he was upbeat and full of life, I was so glad I was able to chat with him. RIP my dear friend Ken, see you on the high ground.
