| I, too, graduated from high school with Jay. We were in a few classes together (and with the last names Goodrich and Harting he wound up sitting right behind me more than once) and I remember him as a great student who excelled in all his pursuits. One of my most vivid memories of him was when he and a classmate were on the cover of the sports section of the local paper as co-goalies of the soccer team. I teased him about it because he looked so stern and serious in the picture, and I never thought of him as having anything but a smile on his face. As I recall, he made a joke about the need to look tough to intimidate his opponents. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. |
