I graduated with Jay in high school, and I remember Jay as someone without guile, a young man who wore no masks. I tried out for goal-keeper freshmen year, and after I got cut I remember that he encouraged me. He was a man who even until death was always trying to help others. Today, I passed my final exams for the Catholic priesthood, I was approved to be a priest this June 25th. This coincided with learning of Jay's death. I will offer my first Mass for the repose of his soul, and for the consolation and strength of his wife, kids, parents, and all his family. May he rest in peace. |
