Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Cheryl Satterlee on March 6, 2014:
Steve will never be forgotten and is, to this day, probably remembered by more people than he would ever have imagined.
I lived in the same subdivision that Steve and his family did in Haslett and Steve was friends with my son, Travis.
I moved across the street to another subdivision, but when I walk in Wood Valley I think of Steve every time I walk past his house.
I think of Steve every time I drive down Haslett Road and see his name on the American Legion........I remember.....his smile, his face turning slightly red when he would show up at the house for Travis and Travis would be running late, or would have the "wrong" band uniform on.
I remember that he and Travis had a mutual interest in either hunting or fishing (or both)......and I am thankful for their friendship.............and then I am sad for the loss....sad for his family and his friends........and then...I'm so thankful for Jesus and for Hope and for God using people to impact our life....no matter how long their journey is here on this earth..........I just felt like I had to honor Steve on this cold winter day and let his family know that their son was special even before his service to our country and is still thought of......Cheryl
