I met Jay my first day of Beast Barracks, way back in June of 1994. We were in the same company our plebe and yearling years, and the same battalion our last two at the Academy. I had the pleasure of meeting his family in Deleware before we drove to IOBC together, and went thru Ranger school together. I had the honor of being stationed with him at FT Campbell and seeing him marry Jen. Jay was the kindest, most honest man I knew in school and in the Army. I know he was a great father and husband. And a great Infantry officer. When I heard the news I couldnt believe it. I still cant. Jay was the kind of guy that makes you want to be a better person. I am truly grateful to have known him. He had a deep impact on my life. To all of his family, please accept my condolences, and you are always in our prayers. |
