As a Captain (FA) in the 35th Engineer Group, 18th. Engineer Brigade in 1970, I could not have asked for a finer CO than Colonel Richard A. Chidlaw. His successor, then Colonel and later Brigadier General, John S. Egbert (dec.), was also an outstanding CO. Both were West Point graduates. My only West Point family connection is that a first cousin graduated from there and also a niece who is currently an army aviator and an Iraq Vet who is in training to be an Astronaut. Go Army! |
