Be Thou At Peace

Posted by MSG(Ret) Roger Peters on November 26, 2014:

My name is Roger Peters, and I was the gunnery Sergeant for then 1LT Generoso. We were stationed together back in Ft Riley, KS around 99-00. First and foremost I want to offer my heart felt condolences. I know its been a while ago since LTs passing, but I had to stop by and leave my regards. LT was a very straight forward kind of guy. Funny, and serious when it came to doing things right.

I enjoyed every minute that I spent serving with Vincent, and cannot believe that he has passed. It's actually very heart wrenching because he was always bigger than life. There were no worries, and any mission seemed minuscule to him. There was nothing that our platoon couldn't do. It is very comforting to know that he became, and had the distinct pleasure of being, a Battery commander, something he always talked about being.

I know his soldiers always came first. I am at a loss for words, I am just trying to leave my piece of him here today. I will truly never forget him, he will always be a leader that I always looked up to and respected. May your families continue to be blessed and may his memory live on forever..
