Suresh was an amazing guy. His friendship and support were big reasons that I chose to stay at the Academy when I was at my lowest point -- struggling to survive early-on. By the time we graduated, we weren't as close as we had been at the beginning. Corps Squad sports and West Point-life in general took us in different directions after Beast. In spite of this, whenever we crossed paths, it was as if nothing had changed. I'll never forget running in to him at an Army football game a couple of years after graduation in Texas when we were both Lieutenants, laughing and joking just as we had when we were 18 and starting our journey at West Point -- except that now, we had made it. I am forever grateful for having known Suresh, and for the help that he provided to me when I needed it most. I was so sad to learn of his passing all of those years ago, and miss him greatly. |
