| Three years have passed since I received a phone call from my son at Camp Buckner where the very sad announcement that Zach had died was made to the then yearlings. For the cadets, like our son who knew him, he was a role model, a recent graduate who they not only admired but liked. The class of 2005 and their Buckner cadre had a small but very meaningful vigil ceremony in Zach's honor. Please know that Zach will never be forgotten, that he accomplished much, and that there are many recent USMA graduates who will keep his spirit with them always. |
