Joe was one of the "good guys". We met Plebe year and were in the Debate Council and Forum together. We were in different regiments, but A-2 lived in central area, so I saw him on campus frequently, as well as at Camp Buckner, class trips, etc. He was always very friendly and had a great sense of humor.
