Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Marie Curry on August 8, 2005:
I was recently at West Point to attend a reunion luncheon for Ladycliff College,(which is now a part of West Point's campus.) I was a graduate of the class on 1972 and married a cadet, who graduated that same year from West Point. My husband has just retired from active duty after serving in the army for 32 years. We have a son, who is a captain in the army and who is preparing to serve in Iraq soon. I was deeply touched when I read the account of Stephen's death and that of his good friend, Jay Harting. While I was at West Point in June, I visited the West Point Cemetery and found the final resting places for both Stephen and Jay. I prayed for each of these precious young men, and for the amazing wives and children they have left behind. Laurel and Jen, I want you to know that you and your children remain in my prayers each week. May the Lord be close to you and may He grant you His peace, His comfort and His strength for each new day.
