Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Marie Curry on August 8, 2005:

I was an Army wife and I am an Army mom. My husband retired from active duty recently after serving 32 years in our beloved army. I was deeply touched by the story of Jay's death and that of his good friend, Stephen Frank. My own son, John, is a captain in the army and he will be deploying soon. He is married and has a young son, and a second child on the way. I was also touched by the account of Jen's bravery and her strength, as she delivered her third child several days after Jay's death, so that she could be present for her husband's return to the States. Our Army spouses today are amazing, amazing young women and men. We owe them, as well as their soldier husbands and wives, a tremendous debt of gratitude for the sacrifices they also endure. Jen, may God bless you and continue to give you His strength for each new day.
