Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Ellie (Pemble) Karre on October 28, 2016:

I was watching a show the other day and they mentioned West Point and you haven't left my mind since. Sadness overcame me and so I sat down at the computer this morning to find any glimmer of you and there you were, your beautiful face smiling right at me. That was enough to ease my heart and then I discovered all of these wonderful Eulogys that were written to you and I found myself sobbing and laughing hysterically reading every last one. Even though it's been years since I last saw you, all of the memories that these special people in your life have shared made me feel like no time has passed at all. Every last word that has been shared is the true Erin we all loved so much. After reading these stories, you came to life all over again in my heart!

When I am back in our hometown for a visit and see your brothers (btw... their band is sooo great!) I find myself wanting to run up to them and hug them and tell them how wonderful you always were and then I realize that they already know this about you. You left a smiling mark on us all.

Thank you Erin for helping me find peace today.

To The Springsteen Family - I hope in the time that has passed, you have found peace in Erin's one-of-a-kind memory. You are such a special family and Erin was so blessed to have each of you in her life. And Mrs. Springsteen, thank you so much for sharing that story about Erin's car breaking down. I about fell out of my chair laughing hysterically when I read the last line!

Much Love ~ Ellie
