Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Deborah Resnick on December 6, 2016:
It has been about 4 years since my Dad, Saul Resnick passed in December 1 of 2012. It still seems like just yesterday and the holidays are especially difficult. I am his only child and my Mother who is 95 asked me what I'd do with His West Point ring, since I have no children or other family to pass it down to-she did not want it to end up in a pawn shop. He was such a special man, and had a whole life before I was born that I know nothing about. For example, I have a small bowling trophy on my mantle that he'd won from American League with his name on it, dated 55-56 High Game 189 and I never knew he bowled. I did know he was the far east handball champion during the 1940's. I know he kept in touch with 2 fellow West Point friends by e mail and one even left him a phone message, when Dad in hospital before he died, wondering why he'd not heard any recent responses from Dad. Dad spent many hours after a long days work at one of various defense jobs, tutoring me in my math classes, esp. algebra and trigonometry. He was a loving, devoted Father, husband, and a kind and positive person. I will miss him until it's my time to go.
Loving daughter, Deborah (D'Ann) Resnick.
