Reminiscences from the Sesquicentennial Class of 1952-50 Years:
Robert L. Korchek I-2 Cleveland, TN Wife: Annemarie Infantry
I retired in 1974 at Fort Bragg, N.C., after having spent sixteen great years with the Army's Special Forces. I then settled in San Diego, CA to be near my mother and stepfather (both now deceased). While in San Diego, I was lucky enough to meet, court, and marry Annemarie in 1981. Annemarie was fortunate to have escaped from East Berlin just before the "wall went up." She is a lovely and talented lady. We have five children between us. Annemarie's four are presently living and working in southern California. My daughter, Lori, is successfully involved in the advertising business in New York City. Annemarie and I are now basically homebodies. She spends a great deal of her time with her gardening. She can grow most anything and make it beautiful. I function as a general "fixer upper." I also spend a share of my time bass fishing with my former Special Forces team sergeant and visiting old and dear service comrades.
