Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Glenn Hall on March 31, 2017:

Jere was a fine officer, a great friend, and a wonderful person. He had a priceless sense of humor. I first met him when he was Infantry branch's contribution to the Artillery Officers Advanced Course at Fort Sill in 1965. We taught in the English Department in 1968-70. Jere was able to find humor even in William Butler Yeats! Jere served two tours in Vietnam . . . He retired to his home state Mississippi, and lived in Hattiesburg for many years. His illness eventually caused him to move closer to the Gulf coast, where the hospital was located. Jere was a credit to West Point in every respect. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
