Dearest Matt, Hey brother. I remember you as a plebe in my company and somehow you were one of the few cadets to make a relatively seamless transition to Academy life. You knew your stuff and excelled, you were respected by both your classmates and the upper class, and you did this while prioritizing the important things without taking yourself too seriously. Well done. I remember you pulling me through the last 12 miles of the JFK50 in November, 2012. I thought I was the endurance athlete, but here you were encouraging me every step of the way to ensure I made it. You passed on my birthday, and now I will never grew a year older without you on my mind and in my heart. All my love to your loved ones and family. Smile on us from your vantage point in the heavens, and save a place for me. Love you, brother. |
