James Franklin Boylan

West Point, 1950

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Kathleen A. Betts on June 6, 2017:

My father was born 23 November 1927 in Ft Bragg, NC. He was also from a military family. Col Paul C. Boylan was an artillery officer in WWII and was in Africa and Italy. My father went to West Point in 1946 and graduated in June of 1950. Met my mother about a week later and married July 15 and that fall was on his way to Korea that left a lasting affect on his life (losing several good friends). Lt Frank Christensen was one. He spent 30 years in the Army retiring in Denver, CO.

My mother and father owned and ran a very popular bookstore for about 10 years.

He was a wonderful man and father. I was blessed to have him and my mother in my life. I miss him all the time.
