Be Thou At Peace

Posted by JOHN E.PRITCHARD on August 21, 2017:

I was a soldier in the United States Army from 1967-69. I was TDRLd from the service as a PFC despite my desire to stay on active duty and continue to serve my country. I wanted to go to Vietnam to serve under Westmoreland when he was COMUSMACV. He was later named as---read: promoted to---Chief of Staff of the United States Army. Subsequently I did serve under Westmoreland when he was Chief of Staff. He was such a fine commander and a fine officer. Men would follow him to hell for a heavenly cause if ordered to, without cavil. He led our men well. The pygmies who attacked him also attacked all our soldiers, sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and airmen, calling them Nazis, murderers, and baby killers, which they were definitely NOT! He served our country well, and so did all who served in Vietnam!...and all who served in our Armed Forces everywhere! Well done, Sir! Be thou at peace.
