Bill and I were E-2 company mates, which made us the closest of friends in that busy place and time. We shared many intramural athletics and even more classes, graduating as marginal goats. We were roommates as yearlings, and I value to this day his friendship and the study habits I learned from him. We went separate services, and it's the curse of our calling that we only got together decades later, at reunion time. But that doesn't dim the friendship. Farewell, Bill, and God bless you on your way. |
