Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Broc Alan Perkuchin on January 10, 2018:

While we were both plebes in Company E-1, Terrance taught me the value of well-timed encouragement and having the self-confidence to freely compliment a peer. I had more than my share of difficulty with the Fourth Class System and grew weary of spending time on the area and losing privileges as a result. On more than one occasion, "T" very casually, and always with a bit of humor mixed in, gave me encouragement in the form of compliment. Given the respect and admiration Terrance enjoyed in our class, his comments meant a lot to me. While this type of kindness and leadership came natural to him and I expect he forgot about it minutes later, those moments remain highlights of my plebe year. At times when I really needed some encouragement, Terrance sensed the need and provided it in just the right measure. I regret I missed the chance to tell him how much I appreciated it.
