Be Thou At Peace

Tony was a close friend during the time I knew him at West Point. We were training partners on the wrestling team. He was the most humble guy I knew while I was there. He would crush the rest of us in certain physical tests, win accolades, and toss them away in Lake Popolopen like they were meaningless. He was a smaller guy than I was but we were training partners for much of our Yuk year together on the wrestling team and he pushed me to be better and work harder. He was a work horse, not to be outworked, and the sort of person that would build you up and make you feel like you were a success. I remember when I left West Point after 2 years there he was one of the few that had very encouraging words for me. I'll always remember him. I think about him to this day. I miss him to this day. He made a permanent impression upon me and I can still feel his warmth and humor. I can still hear his voice and see his unique gait and his long ape-like arms swinging as he walked. He was a true friend to me and I only wish I could've been there to see him put to rest. I intend to visit him soon, and say goodbye in person. Be Though At Peace, brother.
