Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Richard Goldsmith on June 25, 2018:

As I am reminiscing about those long ago days at West Point, I always remember Joe and those long philosophical discussions we used to have. He was quite well read and loved both philosophy and military history-- especially if it involved Tanks! I recall when Joe broke his arm/shoulder and had to wear a cast that held his arm up as if asking a question. Every instructor would call on him before he noticed the cast, but too late, Joe had to come up with something-- which he always did. Joe loved his cabin in the Gallatin Canyon in Montana. After graduation, Joe and 3 of us classmates (Lou Sturbois, Jim Lang and me) met up in Manhattan, Montana and spent a week cruising in his new gold Pontiac Grand Prix. He was in his element. I know we all think often about you, Joe. We miss you! Grip hands!!
