Doug was a great teammate and friend. I will always remember him as being kind, funny and compassionate. He and Julie faced his fight with cancer with a strength, grace and openness that allowed us to share the struggle, even if we did not live nearby. For that I am deeply appreciative. The time I spent with Doug on the soccer field let me see him as a fierce competitor, but never at the expense of others. He gave his best all the time, and he was always supportive of those of us who did not come to the game with the same skills and talent that he possessed. I will miss the comradeship of this fine man. |
