| I was fortunate enough to be Dana's battalion commander when Dana was a company commander and a battalion staff officer in 2-64 Armor (1994-5). Bottom line up first - Dana was the finest officer I have ever served with. He was a dedicated caring leader who demanded the best from himself and inspired all around him to be better soldiers. It has been over 20 years since Dana's passing but I can still clearly see Dana's confident smile. I still remember his great sense of humor. I can still sense his genuine concern for his soldiers and his pride in being an officer in the US Army. |
